Cybersecurity provider AppGate has appointed Chief Revenue Officer Barry Field as new CEO, effective immediately.
A 20-plus year enterprise technology veteran, Field previously was CRO for Cyxtera Technologies, from which AppGate was spun out in January 2020.
“Enterprises are taking a fresh look at cybersecurity as they navigate the ever-changing global business landscape,” Field said. “I look forward to leading AppGate through what promises to be an exciting period of growth as we help organizations stay operational, successful and safe with a Zero Trust approach to secure access.”
Prior to joining Cyxtera, Field was the CEO of Cryptzone. He also held positions of increasing seniority at Terremark from 2007 until 2013, most recently as senior vice president of global sales. He then served as a partner of Medina Capital.
Field’s background as a sales executive, coupled with his talent for building high-performing teams, will serve the company well, said AppGate Executive Chairman Manuel D. Medina.
“AppGate is at the nexus of several important trends that are driving the cybersecurity industry in fundamentally new directions and with the right leadership now in place, the company is exceptionally well positioned to capitalize on its early success in the market,” he said.
