Craig Reed, senior vice president and chief growth officer at Serco Inc., has won WashingtonExec’s 2020 Chief Officer Award for Public Company Chief Growth Officer.

In its inaugural year, the Chief Officer Awards luncheon was held June 17 as a virtual live-streamed program to accommodate the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendations about in-person events. Over 500 people watched as C-suite executives in both industry and government were recognized for their innovation, expertise, impact and thought leadership.

Reed has over 30 years of business experience. In his current position, he leads strategy, mergers and acquisitions and business development for Serco’s North American branch.

In addition to Serco, Reed also serves as president and CEO of Growth Strategy Leaders, an advisory firm he founded in 2011.

Reed started his career at Lockheed Martin, where he progressed steadily for over 10 years before moving to Washington, D.C., for a position with the Energy Department. It was a risk he took that ended up opening “many new doors,” Reed previously told WashingtonExec.

Before Serco, Reed served as president and chief operating officer at NT Concepts, where he was tasked with strategic growth and operational leadership.

Reed also served as senior vice president and COO for Engility Corp., where he worked on growth strategies, integration, communications and differentiated technology solutions.

Even with his career success, the accomplishment Reed is most proud of is his family.

“I am super proud of my two great, talented adult children and my equally talented and successful wife, all of whom have been incredibly supportive of my career along the way,” he said.
