Letitia “Tish” Long will be an MC at the GEOINT 2020 Symposium.

The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation’s GEOINT 2020 Symposium will be held April 26-29 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida.

The annual event brings together defense, intelligence and homeland security professionals and others who use and produce geospatial information. Featuring several keynote speakers, panel discussions and breakout tracks, this year’s theme is “New Decade, New Strategies.”

Vice Adm. Robert Sharp, director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency; Christopher Scolese, director of the National Reconnaissance Office; and Lt. Gen. John N.T. “Jack” Shanahan, director of the Pentagon’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center will be keynote speakers. Sue Gordon and Letitia Long will be the masters of ceremonies.

“USGIF is excited to be returning to Tampa in 2020 and provide the GEOINT community phenomenal content, unparalleled networking and professional and educational development opportunities,” said Ronda Schrenk, vice president of programs at USGIF. “This year’s theme celebrates the arrival of the new decade and the evolution of our nascent tradecraft. As we enter a new decade, it is essential to discuss the new challenges we face and the strategies to achieve mission success.”

In addition to an exhibit hall with more than 200 organizations showcasing their technologies, the symposium also features the final round of the USGIF and Open Geospatial Consortium’s Innovative Tradecraft Competition around best practices in data discovery and mission problems. Audience members will have the opportunity to see 5-minute presentations from the top four finalists and then vote for the grand prize winner.

Additional training sessions can be added for attendees to learn from subject matter experts on topics such as the Internet of Things, invisible radio frequency data, quantum computing, artificial intelligence integration and raster analysis.

The week kicks off with a pre-symposium science and technology day on April 26 requiring separate registration. GEOINT Foreword is an opportunity for attendees to hear from government, industry and academia about new strategies and challenges the community faces in the new decade. The main event runs April 27-29
