Technology solutions provider Cognosante will provide advisory and assistance services to the Veterans Health Administration under a newly established Federal Supply Schedule Blanket Purchasing Agreement.

Cognosante and partners will work with VHA to assess VA medical centers and develop and execute customized implementation plans to facilitate the establishment of high reliability organization principles throughout. The team will also provide coaching, training, sustainment plans and other support services.

The BPA is valued at $98 million.

“We are proud to support the VHA – the largest integrated healthcare system in the country – in its mission to provide Veterans with critical healthcare services in the most safe and reliable environments possible,” said James Gordon, Cognosante president.

Cognosante has partnered with a slew of organizations for this initiative, including Safe and Reliable Healthcare, the Institute for Safe Medication Practice and Intermountain Healthcare.

“We are bringing a deep bench of seasoned experts who understand the complexity of healthcare delivery, at a leadership level, an organizational level, and at the front lines. This unique expertise positions us well to support the VHA in its high reliability journey,” said Steve Schliesman, general manager of Cognosante’s Military and Veterans Health Business Unit.
