Craig Ackerman, a U.S. Army veteran with 25 years of industry experience, is MITRE’s first vice president for operations and transformation — a role created to lead the new organization consisting of the business transformation program, corporate real estate, contracts and acquisition management and a newly formed operational risk management function.

Ackerman brings years of experience leading operations, business transformation and shared services team. He most recently served as principal in the federal practice at Chazey Partners, a global advisory firm, where he worked with federal and local government clients to develop more efficient service delivery operations.

Prior, Ackerman also served as the firm’s head of robotic process automation, where he helped clients leverage process automation tools to improve  productivity, control and compliance.

“As we continue to grow our team and build strong internal capabilities at MITRE, Craig’s track record of leading strategic transformation with agility and developing the talent to facilitate adoption across the enterprise will be a real asset,” said Usha Chaudhary, senior vice president for corporate operations and chief transformation officer at MITRE.

Ackerman has also held senior leadership positions at Day & Zimmerman, Parsons Brinckerhoff and SAIC. Earlier in his career, he was a captain in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

“He will leverage his experience managing diverse functions, including operations, finance and accounting, HR, procurement, IT, and sales, to drive engagement as we continue to transform our business functions and enhance our services to internal and external customers,” Chaudhary added.
