On Oct. 31, SAIC’s Chitra Sivanandam won the WashingtonExec Pinnacle Award for Artificial Intelligence Industry Executive of the Year.

Chitra Sivanandam, vice president of analytics and simulation at Science Applications International Corp., won the WashingtonExec Pinnacle Award for Artificial Intelligence Industry Executive of the Year.

In its second year, the annual Pinnacle Awards luncheon was held Oct. 31 at the Ritz Carlton Tysons Corner. The luncheon drew over 525 GovCon leaders and professionals, and showcased exemplary GovCon leadership in industry and government.

Sivanandam joined SAIC in 2018 when she began spearheading efforts at expanding and enhancing the company’s footprint in using artificial intelligence and machine learning for an array of government customers that have included the Defense Department, NASA and the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board. This includes the expanded application of the SAIC’s MetaSift and Synthetic Analyst solutions, automation tools that assist military and intelligence analysts.

Sivanandam has also played a leading role in expanding SAIC’s engagement with the start-up community, including the development of recent partnerships with the Capital Factory in Austin, Texas, and the Los Angeles-based Techstars Starburst Space Accelerator.

Sivanandam is also a member of the board of directors for Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Washington, D.C. Chapter, where she works to identify leaders to participate in Young AFCEA and related committees. She is an active member of Amazing Women in the Intelligence Community, which provides networking and career development opportunities.
