Rick Jones of AMERICAN SYSTEMS was named WashingtonExec’s Pinnacle Award DOD Industry Executive of the Year on Oct. 31.

Rick Jones, vice president of national services at AMERICAN SYSTEMS, has been named WashingtonExec’s Pinnacle Award DOD Industry Executive of the Year.

In its second year, the annual Pinnacle Awards luncheon was held Oct. 31 at the Ritz Carlton Tysons Corner. The luncheon drew over 525 GovCon leaders and professionals, and showcased exemplary GovCon leadership in industry and government.

With 37 years of experience managing network infrastructure and integration projects supporting government and commercial clients, Jones has overseen a significant portion of AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ business.

In 1997, he stood up the National Services division of the company and also created and maintained the Partnership Program, where he identified and qualified cabling companies supporting AMERICAN SYSTEMS national customers. In past years, he has won more than $100 million in Air Force contracts.

In December 2017, under his leadership, AMERICAN SYSTEMS was awarded a contract for what is now the emergency mass notification system used for the entire Air Force.
