Mike Gaffney, executive vice president of business development at CACI International, has won the WashingtonExec Pinnacle Award for the Business Development Executive of the Year.

In its second year, the annual Pinnacle Awards luncheon was held Oct. 31 at the Ritz Carlton Tysons Corner. The luncheon drew over 525 GovCon leaders and professionals, and showcased exemplary GovCon leadership in industry and government.

Gaffney oversees the business development lifecycle, managing an organization of over 200 business development, capture and proposal professionals. He came to CACI in 2015 after 23 years with Computer Sciences Corp., where he served in business development and operational roles.

As vice president and general manager of CSC’s Civil Group, North American Public Sector, Gaffney managed a team of about 2,500. Before that, Gaffney was handpicked to lead a major revitalization of CSC’s Civil and Health Services Group as president, managing over 300 programs with nearly 6,000 employees.

Prior, Gaffney was president of business development for CSC’s North American Public Sector, where he led a 150-member team with a $60 million annual bid and proposal budget.

Gaffney has been a member of ACT-IAC, AFCEA International, the National Defense Industrial Association, the Association of the U.S. Army, and the Navy League of the United States.
