The HUNGRY team (Shy Pahlevani, Jeff Grass and Eman Pahlevani) received the 2019 Moxie Award for Business Services.

Nearly 400 business leaders last week attended the Moxie Award ceremony and dinner to recognize boldness in business by growing businesses, nonprofits and associations in the Washington, D.C., area.

The event, held Nov. 5 at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner, announced 14 winners chosen from over 130 finalists for making a difference in the marketplace with their bold initiatives, strategic market moves and moxie.

Since the award’s inception three years ago, the organizers have received hundreds of nominations from the area’s most innovative companies, said Moxie Chairwoman Sarah Cody.

“2019 was no exception,” she said. “After careful review and evaluation by a panel of third-party judges, this year’s 14 winners stood out among their competition for demonstrating exemplary innovation, growth, industry leadership, community service, and local achievements.”

The 2019 Moxie Award winners are:

Business Services – HUNGRY

Construction & Real Estate – The Keri Shull Team

Consumer Services – Farmers Restaurant Group

Emerging Companies – Remedy Plan Therapeutics

Financial Services – DataTribe

Govcon (<50 Employees) – Ecology Mir Group

GovCon (50-200) – B3 Group, Inc.

GovCon (200+) – MAG Aerospace

Healthcare – Heal

Large Enterprise – Guidehouse

Nonprofit & Association – Shelter House

Professional Services – Blackdragon

Software – DiliVer

Technology – Gatekeeper Intelligent Security

Event attendees got to hear stories and insights from executive leaders about their novel strategies, formulas for innovation and success, and what moxie means to them.
