ORock Technologies can now offer Red Hat’s OpenShift Container Platform within its cloud environment, thanks to recent Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program authorization.

The secure infrastructure and cloud services provider’s cloud environment, dubbed ORockCloud, is already FedRAMP Moderate certified. But adding OpenShift to its containers-as-a-service, which is hosted on ORockCloud, provides customers with a fully managed platform-as-a-service solution for deploying containers in hybrid cloud or multicloud environments. It also adds FedRAMP compliant security controls and continuous monitoring.

Plus, the OpenShift container platform allows developers and IT operators to build, deploy and manage applications on a single platform across hybrid cloud infrastructures. This shortens development cycles, increases efficiencies and enables developers to deploy applications at scale without compromising on security.

“By offering ORock Secure Containers as a Service in its FedRAMP Moderate authorized cloud, ORock is further extending Red Hat OpenShift into the Federal government and regulated commercial industries,” said Paul Smith, senior vice president and general manager of public sector at Red Hat.

ORockCloud is designed for government agencies and highly regulated commercial organizations. Now, this open-source environment is the first FedRAMP Moderate cloud that includes both the Red Hat OpenStack Platform and the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
