Retired Col. Michael McKinney has joined Attain, LLC as a managing director to lead, grow and oversee profit and loss management for the company’s Defense Department business.

Prior to joining Attain in April, McKinney served in several leadership positions in industry. He was most recently vice president of business development for Akima’s Technology Solutions Product Group, and before, director of Cubic Corp. McKinney has also spent time as a product line director and senior director for BAE Systems.

But before his time in industry, McKinney served 26 years in the U.S. Air Force as a fighter pilot. He was commander of the Sixth Combat Training Squadron for Air-Ground and Warrior Training; the 414th Combat Training Squadron, Exercise Red Flag; and the 57th Operations Group for unmanned aerial vehicles.

“I am excited to join Attain, having been very impressed by the company’s holistic, customer-centric, and agile approaches to technology initiatives,” McKinney said. “I’m looking forward to bringing digital transformation to our DoD clients with services in advanced analytics, IT modernization, and cyber security.”

And according to Attain President and Chief Operating Officer Manish Agarwal, McKinney fits right into the company’s focus on attracting innovative, mission-focused leaders.

“Mike’s proven success in building and leading military and civilian teams, coupled with his experience in both the services and product markets, will help Attain continue its momentum, and further diversify and extend our offerings to the DoD community,” Agarwal said.
