Altamira Technologies has been recognized as Government Contracting Company of the Year for 2019 at the Maryland Tech Council’s 31st annual Industry Awards for driving innovation in technology and life sciences around the greater capital region.

The council is Maryland’s largest technology trade association, and its award ceremony highlights the leaders, educators and emerging individuals and companies in STEM, life sciences and technology. More than 630 business leaders from around the state attended the May 23 celebration at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.

Altamira won five franchise prime contracts in 2018. Those contracts served customers in geospatial intelligence; Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance; and cyber.

“Altamira is honored to be named Government Contracting Company of the Year at the Maryland Tech Council Industry Awards, and to be among the group of highly accomplished, innovation-driven businesses and individuals recognized at this year’s event,” said Jonathan Moneymaker, president of Altamira Technologies.

The company was also recognized for sustaining 20% year-over-year growth, and for its spot on The Washington Post and The Business Journal Best Places to Work in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
