Dr. John Hillen Named EverWatch CEO

    John Hillen, EverWatch

National security executive and longtime GovCon expert Dr. John Hillen has been tapped as chief executive of EverWatch, a government services company providing defense and intelligence solutions.

Hillen joins a duo of other industry veterans on EverWatch’s management team. Fred Funk will serve as chief growth officer and Diane Nguyen as chief financial officer. EverWatch was formed last year through the merger of four Enlightenment Capital acquisitions in the defense and intelligence sectors.

Hillen, a former senior U.S. national security official, has served as CEO of several defense and intelligence technology companies in the Washington, D.C., area. He was president and CEO of Sotera Defense Solutions, which he led to a successful IPO in 2009.  An industry leader, Hillen has been the chairman of the Professional Services Council, a winner of the GovCon Award for large company of the year and twice the recipient of a Fed100 award. A former Army officer and decorated combat veteran, Hillen served as assistant secretary of state for political-military affairs during the Bush administration.

Funk has over 30 years of experience in the defense and intelligence markets. He served as president of ASRC Federal’s Cyber and SIGINT Systems division after running the intelligence business for Vistronix, which ASRC Federal acquired in 2016. He previously also co-founded KEYW Corp., which went public in 2010, less than 26 months after it was founded.

Nguyen has over 25 years of experience as a financial executive in the government sector. She spent the last 15 years at General Dynamics Information Technology, most recently as CFO, vice president of finance.

“Looking at the technology solutions sector as both a corporate leader and a former government official, it is clear to me that our government needs fully capable mid-sized companies helping them with their most critical missions,” Hillen said. “EverWatch’s talented employees have demonstrated they have the expertise, experience, and capabilities to deliver solutions to their customers. The addition of these experienced corporate leaders to EverWatch will help us accelerate our growth trajectory as we build a great mid-sized prime contractor for the most mission-oriented customers in the defense and intelligence space.”
