Vistronix Intelligence & Technology Solutions, a software developer and solutions innovator based in Reston, Virginia, announced Jan. 12 Fred Funk has been hired as the new president of Cyber & SIGINT Systems. Funk will be based out of the Columbia, Maryland, office.

“The vision, passion, and technical talent of the Vistronix team is energizing,” Funk said. “I feel privileged to be joining Vistronix as we build the next great national security company and the employer of choice in the Community.”

Funk previously served as senior vice president of the National Security Group at Preferred Systems Solutions. Before joining PSS, Funk co-founded the KEYW Holding Corp. in 2008, where he held several roles including chief financial officer, vice president of corporate development and vice president of national security solutions. Prior to KEYW, Funk was VP for corporate development at Essex Corp.

“As the size, scale and scope of Vistronix and its position within the IC and ISR markets continue to grow, we are fortunate to have such an accomplished IC industry leader and business builder as Fred join our team to lead our NSA business,” said John Hassoun, president and CEO at Vistronix.
