Science Applications International Corp. announced plans to name two Engility board members — including a former high-ranking Pentagon acquisition official — to SAIC’s board of directors once the Engility acquisition closes.

SAIC said the board committees Katharina G. McFarland and David M. Kerko will serve on will be determined once the deal closes. After the two additions, a total of 11 people will sit on SAIC’s board.

McFarland has served on the board of directors of Engility since June 2017. She served as the assistant secretary of defense for acquisition from May 2012 to June 2017.

During the same period, McFarland was also appointed acting assistant secretary of the Army for acquisitions, logistics & technology and Army acquisition executive. Prior to her governmental appointments, McFarland served as president of the Defense Acquisition University from November 2010 to May 2012.

Kerko has served on the board of directors of Engility since February 2015. He also has been a consultant to KKR & Co. L.P. since February 2015. Kerko was a director of TASC, Inc. from 2009 until February 2015, and until February 2015, he was an executive of KKR. Kerko joined KKR in 1998.
