AbleVets, which provides health IT solutions to the federal government, is a finalist in the Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards in the $25 million to $75 million category.

Commonly referred to as the GovCon Awards, the recognitions spotlight government contracting leaders selected by a panel of industry and government professionals. Winners are selected based on a number of factors, including how the contractor excelled financially, operationally, and in contributions made to its employees, the govcon industry and the government.

The Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Professional Services Council announced the finalists Sept. 12. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony Nov. 5.

“AbleVets is honored to be named a finalist,” said CEO Dr. Wyatt Smith. “This recognition underscores the integrity and resolve our employees bring to our mission to improve the lives of veterans and active duty. I thank each and every one of our team members for always going beyond the expected to help our health and defense customers achieve their objectives.”

AbleVets has received a number of recognitions in 2018. Among other awards, its chief growth officer was named to FCW’s Fed 100, and the firm itself was named AFCEA International’s small business of the year.

“We are humbled to be included on a list that reads like a who’s who of contractors,” Smith said of being a GovCon award finalist. “Their contributions to the government contracting sector – and the agencies they serve – have resulted in remarkable outcomes for all citizens. I congratulate all the Contractor of the Year and Executive of the Year finalists.”
