Joshua Bailes, CollabraLink

The former chief operating officer of the federal government’s in-house tech startup, 18F, is joining CollabraLink as vice president of operations.

As VP of operations, Josh Bailes will also oversee the operations of CollabraLink’s Transportation Department portfolio, the company said.

Bailes brings 10 years of experience in management, business development and corporate operations to CollabraLink. Most recently, as COO of 18F, Bailes served as supervisor for the Cloud.gov director and oversaw other business development projects.

“We are excited to bring Josh onboard at CollabraLink,” said Rahul Pandhi, CollabraLink president. “Josh understands how to drive impact for public sector clients, period. His time at 18F has him well versed in how to successfully modernize Federal IT in a cost effective, agile and intuitive fashion. This skillset will serve the CollabraLink customer base well and helps to further solidify CollabraLink’s position as a go-to partner for Federal Agencies in this arena.”

Bailes said he was drawn to CollabraLink because of its culture.

“One thing that stood out about CollabraLink was the commitment to agile methodologies, human centered design, and development of a devops culture within the organization,” Bailes said in a statement. “Those elements are part of the backbone of an organization that can get transformation done.”
