KippsDeSanto & Co., celebrating its 10th year as an aerospace and defense investment bank, has hired a new managing director.

KippsDeSanto added Warren Romine, who previously led the aerospace, defense and government services practice at FBR & Co. Romine advises clients on acquisition candidates, merger opportunities, divestitures, and financing alternatives, with specific expertise in the commercial aerospace and aviation sectors, KippsDeSanto said.

“I am truly excited to join and leverage the KippsDeSanto aerospace and defense platform, with its proven team of experienced, industry-focused investment bankers,” Romine said.

As the firm hits its 10-year anniversary, adding Romine will help KippsDeSanto capitalize on additional growth potential in the aerospace and defense industry, said Co-founder and Managing Director Bob Kipps.

KippsDeSanto has closed 28 transactions since the beginning of 2015 and more than 80 transactions since inception, with recent deals including the sale of BEI Precision Systems Space Company, a Carlyle portfolio company, to J.F. Lehman & Co., and selling Seaward Marine Services to MHI Holdings, a portfolio company of Stellex Capital Management.

KippsDeSanto expects a record year for 2017, and has participated in several notable industry transactions thus far, including the acquisition of NES by CSRA, the acquisition of InfoReliance by ECS and the acquisition of Information Innovators Inc. by Salient CRGT.
