The WashingtonExec Big Data Council is excited to welcome Sanjay Sardar as its 2017-2018 vice chairman. Sardar serves as SAIC’s vice president of data services and leads the company’s data science strategy through technical capabilities and talent acquisition.
Sardar joins the council’s leadership with Chairman Melvin Greer of Intel Corp. Together, they will provide strategic leadership for future roundtable speakers, topics and programming. Topics will include legacy infrastructure, research, development and policy augmentation.
“We as a society need to think about how we get people who consume or repurpose data to be responsible and take some ownership,” Sardar said in a recent WashingtonExec interview. “One possible solution is a registry. If people register when they create data products, they’ll be liable as much as the creator or producer of the data is.”
Before joining SAIC, Sardar served as chief information officer for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He received an MBA from George Washington University and a B.S. from the University of Virginia.
Sardar is currently working to complete a degree in executive education from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management.
