Federal contractor MCR Solutions has hired Sean Pender as president of its new MCR Solutions unit, tapping the former Alion exec to lead its advanced analytics, modeling, simulation and visualization business.

MCR, which provides program management, engineering and solutions to the U.S. and other governments, established MCR Solutions earlier this year. MCR Solutions will focus on developing and growing MCR’s CommandEdge offering, which brings advanced analytics, modeling/simulation and visualization expertise to program management, according to the company.

Pender has 30 years of experience in formulating, architecting and implementing cutting edge solutions for high profile programs to the U.S. government and international customers, MCR President Vince Kiernan said.

“We are excited to have Sean join our leadership team and look forward to the enormous impact he will have on shaping the future growth of MCR,” Kiernan said. “Sean and his team will initially be focused on bringing CommandEdge value to our existing customers.”

Pender was previously a senior vice president at Alion Science and Technology, and has also held leadership positions at DRS Technologies.
