DLH Holdings Corp., a health care and human services provider to the federal government, has named Jim Allen to its board of directors.

Allen has more than 40 years’ experience as a senior financial executive in aerospace, defense and federal IT services. He is a past executive vice president and chief financial officer of Global Defense Technology & Systems, Inc., which is now Sotera Defense Solutions, Inc. He is also past senior vice president and CFO of Veridian Corporation.

He has worked in public and private financing as well as investor relations and mergers and acquisitions.

“Jim has been in leadership positions at some of our industry’s finest organizations for years including serving and adding value at the board level,” said DLH President and CEO Zach Parker. “He brings a wealth of financial experience and corporate develop-related acumen to our company, and his counsel will be invaluable as we continue to grow the business and improve our long-term financial performance.”

Allen currently serves on several boards for federal technology services companies including Applied Research Associates, Inc., NCI, Inc. and Preferred Systems Solutions, Inc.

“Adding Jim to its board is another great example of DLH executing its well thought-out strategy of building out its brand, leadership experience and market following and credibility,” said Robert D. Kipps, managing director of KippsDeSanto & Co.
