Key leaders in cybersecurity met recently for a D.C. area summit that marks one of nine such events this year in stops across the U.S.

The Cyber Security Summit is an exclusive conference aimed at C-level and senior executives responsible for protecting their companies’ critical infrastructures.

The D.C. Metro event was held on June 29 at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner. Thought leaders and subject matter experts from the Justice Department, Cybraics, CenturyLink, Tanium, Alert Logic, Venafi and others attended the meeting briefed attendees on the latest security threats and how to address them.

The conference featured networking opportunities as well as keynote speakers and roundtable discussions with global experts.

“Don’t expect that cybersecurity tools will solve all of your problems,” said Darren Death, chief information security officer for ASRC Federal, and one of several panel speakers at the conference. “You must ensure that you implement good IT hygiene practices like patching and secure computer configurations. We know this to be the case as the recent global cyber attacks have taken advantage of unpatched systems.”

The series continues with stops in Chicago, New York, Boston and Los Angeles. For more information, visit cybersummitusa.com.
