The WashingtonExec Executive Assistant Committee on June 9 hosted its annual member appreciation event at Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, Virginia.

The committee’s most dedicated members came together for the invitation-only event and enjoyed a perfect day with sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s. Catering was provided by Saint Germain, and attendees enjoyed a variety of Stone Tower wines.

“Networking events like this are so important for assistants,” said Debbie Schaffer of Jacobs. “The best admins understand an expansive network is vital to success. I’ve pulled off some amazing ‘miracles’ during my career, but never without assistance from my networking of amazing EAs. Getting to know my fellow WashingtonExec EA Committee members better in this relaxed setting was both fun and valuable to my career.”

Chair Kristin Cuadros of Attain said she attributes much of her personal and professional growth to the interactions she has had with committee members. She joined in 2010.

“It’s very rewarding to see how this group continues to evolve over the years,” she said. “I’m grateful to have a network like this.”

The committee celebrated the success of its five Executive Assistant Committees with more than 50 members in the government contracting industry. Events committee members Narri Satre of BAE Systems and Cecillia Rogers of YRCI coordinated the event.

“We continue to see the same faces showing up for our events,” Cuadros said. “It’s these folks that realize the impact a professional network can have on your career. It’s vital to maintain your networks even when it seems like there aren’t enough hours in the day.”
