Kritika Singh, a former student at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology and the founder of Malaria Free World, describes her nonprofit organization as an aim to raise awareness about the malaria epidemic. Malaria Free World also raises funds for malaria eradication efforts and has expanded internationally with champions who are very much involved in making a better place for their own community.

Right now, Malaria Free World raises awareness by doing presentations, through their program for kids, Malaria Masters, and traveling to India for international events. Kritika started Malaria Free World after an internship that taught her the gap in understanding concerning malaria in the United States. Kritika emphasizes being persistent with what you are interested in and pursing your passions.

The Annual K-12 STEM Symposium will be held March 25, 2017 in Herndon, Virginia. The largest K-12 STEM Symposium in the National Capital Region is a free, all-day forum that equally engages local parents, educators and children. Sign up by visiting www.stemsymposium.com.  Sponsorships are still available.
