2015 K-12 STEM Symposium Co-Keynote speaker Evan Glazer, principal of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology

 Principal Dr. Evan Glazer will return to the WashingtonExec‘s K-12 STEM Symposium for his third straight year on March 25.

Glazer has been the principal of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology since July 2006. During his tenure, the school has received a variety of accolades, including a US Department of Education Blue Ribbon School, Intel’s Star Innovator award for the best science program in the United States, and the top public school ranking in America from both Newsweek and US News and World Report. Glazeer aims to support a program that develops student problem solving and research skills, and an appreciation for intellectual curiosity and social responsibility.

Previously as a high school principal in Roanoke, Virginia, Dr. Glazer instituted new research programs in science and technology, and taught math, computer science, and mentorship courses to students and professional development seminars to teachers. At the university level, Glazer taught courses on instructional design, research methods, using computers in the classroom, preparing beginning teachers, and preparing new administrators.

Glazer has a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Mathematics Education at the University of Illinois and a Ph. D. in Instructional Technology at the University of Georgia.
