TeraThink has been named to the 2017 Best Places to Work in Virginia, an annual list created by Virginia Business and Best Companies Group.
This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the commonwealth’s economy, workforce and businesses. The 2017 Best Places to Work in Virginia list is made up of 100 companies.
Four government contracting companies regularly covered by WashingtonExec made the list in 2016. Ingenicomm Inc. came in at No. 56 in the Small Employer category (15-99 U.S. employees). In the Medium Employer category (100-249 U.S. employees), Defense Point Security LLC was ranked No. 1, Knight Point Systems was No. 6 and TeraThink Corp. was No. 13.
To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity
- Be a publicly or privately held business
- Have a facility in Virginia
- Have at least 15 employees working in Virginia
- Be in business a minimum of 1 year
Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Virginia. The first part consists of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics, which is worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation.
The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience, worth the remaining approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Virginia and also analyzed the data and used its expertise to determine the final ranking.
The final rankings will be announced at an awards luncheon Feb. 2, 2017, at the Williamsburg Lodge in Williamsburg, Virginia.
