Ntrepid Corp. announced Nov. 21 the appointment of Steven Earls as vice president of information security strategy.

“We are very excited to have Steve join us in this very significant cybersecurity leadership role,” Ntrepid CEO Richard Helms said. “His extensive experience will enable us to expand our investments in future innovative cyber products. Steve’s passion for cybersecurity is second to none and that passion shows in the enthusiasm he brings to solving the complex technical problems presented by the cybersecurity needs of our customers.”

“I was attracted to Ntrepid’s established mission to utilize the focus and passion of their people to build the best information security products that can be built,” Earls said. “The information security industry is at an inflection point, and companies are beginning to realize the potential role that their people, processes and technologies can play in protecting their staff and sensitive information. I look forward to being a part of this dynamic team and to continue the improvement of our products and services with an unrelenting eye towards innovation.”

Earls brings more than 20 years of technology and information security experience in both commercial and government sectors to the position. He most recently served as senior VP and deputy chief information security officer at Fifth and Third Bank. Previously, Earls was the cybersecurity architect and a cyber chief technology officer at the CIA.
