    SSL Names Richard White SVP of BD for Government Systems

    Satellites and spacecraft systems provider Space Systems Loral, based in Palo Alto, California, announced Oct. 27 the appointment of Richard White as senior vice president — business development, government systems.

    “I am extremely pleased to have Mr. White join the management team that will lead our growth in U.S. government business,” SSL MDA Holdings CEO Howard Lance said. “Mr. White is an experienced senior executive with deep knowledge and access across numerous agencies and departments of the U.S. government including defense, intelligence and civilian. He has held leadership positions in general management, programs management, engineering and business development across multiple mission areas. These include intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, satellite antennas and payloads, and cybersecurity.”

    White previously served as Capstone Corp.’s CEO and held senior management roles at Harris Corp. from 1982 to 2013. He is a graduate of the University of Toledo, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. White also earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the Florida Institute of Technology.
