Trowbridge & Trowbridge announced it has achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2013, an international standard for information security, certification for its headquarters facility in McLean, Virginia.
The ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard specifies the requirements for improving an Information Security Management System, an internal framework for managing a company’s sensitive information.
To obtain certification, Trowbridge underwent an external audit of its information security policies, procedures and tools.
“Our ISO 27001 certification validates our commitment to providing a secure IT environment for our employees, customers, partners and suppliers,” said Karen Trowbridge, president and CEO of Trowbridge. “I am proud of the dedication that Trowbridge personnel have shown in making information security an integral part of all of our business processes.”
Trowbridge conducted training sessions to educate its employees about their roles and responsibilities in information security for the company and clients. Developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission, the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard recognizes the security of information and assets. National Quality Assurance in conjunction with Radian Compliance conducted the independent audit and issued the certification.
