The Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce announced July 19 the winners of the 2016 Distinguished Service Awards. The awards honor individuals, companies and non-profit organizations for their service to veterans in the Greater Washington business community. Nominees and winners were selected by an independent committee and announced at the awards gala at the Falls Church Marriott Fairview Park.
John C. Harvey, Jr., Secretary of Veterans and Defense Affairs for the Commonwealth of Virginia, presented a keynote address.
“We are thrilled to announce winners of our first annual Distinguished Service Awards,” Northern Virginia Chamber President and CEO Jim Corcoran said. “These companies are true leaders in our business community who have dedicated their time and resources to help veterans succeed.”
The winners included:
- Veteran Business Mentorship Award – Dog Tag Bakery
- Emerging Veteran Owned Business Award (less than 3 years in business) – MILLIE
- Established Veteran Owned Business Award (more than 3 years in business) – Two Marines Moving
In addition, CACI International Executive Chairman and Chairman of the Board Dr. J. (Jack) Phillip London was honored with the Lifetime Distinguished Service Award for his commitment and contributions to help veterans succeed in business in the Greater Washington region.
