On the evening of June 2, 2016 WashingtonExec celebrated five years of business at its annual appreciation event at Congressional Country Club. Attendees included council members, past speakers, and long-time supporters of the digital magazine and events organization. JD Kathuria, CEO, recognized and thanked a few first customers and advisors for their contributions to the success of WashingtonExec’s professional networking programs.
At the beginning of the evening Shiv Krishnan was presented with the WashingtonExec Early Adopter Award. Krishnan is the founder of INDUS Corporation, sold to Tetra Tech Inc. in March 2016. Shiv and the Krishnan family were honored for their dedication and commitment to local science and technology programs as well as to WashingtonExec’s K-12 STEM Symposium.
Shiv and wife Meena Krishnan are tireless advocates of the Annual K-12 STEM Symposium, held every March in Herndon, Virginia. The Krishnan’s were also instrumental in facilitating the first and second editions of the Parent STEM Action Plan. The 50 page how-to guide is the first of its kind for the National Capital Region and includes best practices from local teachers and professionals on how to engage children in STEM activities, upcoming STEM-related events in the D.C. region, and a vetted list of after school enrichment programs, summer camps and internship resources for students.
“It’s been an absolute delight to have Shiv as a part of the WashingtonExec community. Shiv has devoted an immense amount of time and resources to ensure the success of our STEM Council and the Annual K-12 STEM Symposium,” said JD Kathuria, CEO of WashingtonExec.
