Salient CRGT Inc. will present its 4th annual (ISC)2 CyberSecureGov Conference May 19-20 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. This two-day training event brings together luminaries from government, academia and industry to address a variety of government cyber issues.
“With a unique perspective on what is at stake, cyber security professionals are being called as agents of change to influence and empower the government’s progress at all levels,” North America Region and Director of U.S. Government Affairs, (ISC)² Managing Director Dan Waddell said. “This year’s CyberSecureGov training event is designed to shake up the status quo and incite progress in new ways.”
Charles McGann will participate as a distinguished speaker and cyber security expert. He previously worked as the Corporate Information Security Officer at the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) and currently serves as Salient CRGT’s Chief Cyber Strategist, focusing on cyber security protection service offerings.
“I am honored to be speaking at CyberSecureGov this year,” McGann said. “I have been involved with this conference for several years. There are always excellent, dynamic speakers with informative talks about the most pressing issues in cyber security. It is a great opportunity to meet other experienced professionals and discuss the newest cyber strategies and technologies. With the number of unplanned cyber events occurring, I’m bringing some personal perspective to the conference with a presentation on ‘After the Breach – Learning How to Get Through it,’ based on several events occurring during my time as a CISO and the lessons learned about the response process and after actions.”
McGann holds CISSP and CISM certifications, as well as an Information Assurance Methodology certification from the National Security Agency. He previously co-chaired the (ISC)2 U.S. Government Advisory Council (USGAC) and is a current council member, a participant in the EC-Council Foundation initiatives, and serves on the government education advisory board at Symantec and on the customer advisory board at RedSeal Networks.
Themed “Inspiring Change Agents in an Environment of Game-Changing Threats,” the CyberSecureGov training program will include three tracks focused on Prevention, Detection and Resilience.
