CALIBRE Systems Inc. will host its 27th Annual CALIBRE Classic golf tournament on May 25, 2016, at the 1757 Golf Club.

Money raised from the event goes to Homes for Our Troops (HFOT), which builds and delivers, mortgage-free, specially-adapted homes to severely injured post-9/11 veterans.

With the support of golfers and sponsors, CALIBRE has donated $120,000 towards fully accessible homes for local wounded service embers. Last year’s event benefitted Army Sergeant (Retired) Steven Curry, whose unit was on an escort mission with the Air Force Explosive Ordnance Device Team when it was struck by four explosively-formed penetrators. As a result of the blast, Sgt. Curry suffered a traumatic brain injury and the eventual amputation of his left leg below the knee.

“It is CALIBRE’s privilege and honor to support Homes for Our Troops in building homes for our severely injured service members,” tournament co-directors Judy Butts, CALIBRE Principal, and Tom Peitler, CALIBRE Systems Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, said. “Making it sweeter still, our customers, business partners, employee-owners and friends from Homes for Our Troops have a fabulous time at our tournament.”

The beneficiary of the 2016 event will be announced at a later date.

The cost to participate is $125 per person, which includes free range balls, goodie bag, greens fees, cart, beverage tickets and buffet dinner.
