Sonya Jain: Expanding eGlobalTech’s Client Reach Through Key Contract Wins

It’s an exciting time for eGlobalTech. Having established itself more than a decade ago as a management consulting firm, with a focus on enterprise architecture work, the woman-owned management consulting and IT solutions firm has grown its focus in security and IT development expertise – the latter in areas state-of-the-art technologies such as Semantic Web and Open Source technologies.

The need for such services is being seen across federal agencies, especially within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS) and the General Services Administration (GSA). “Those three have been our big growth areas over the last couple of years,” says Sonya Jain, President of eGlobalTech, which was established in 2004.

Among the Arlington, Va.-based company’s recent achievements is the development of Healthdata.gov, a portal that releases health data for consumers to digest in any way they want. In addition, eGlobalTech has developed internal tools such as Cloudamatic, a flexible, open source solution for one-click cloud deployment, as well as a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analytical tool.

eGlobalTech’s also supports the Open FEMA and Open DHS efforts at DHS. “These are very much in concert with the DATA [Digital Accountability and Transparency] Act that is being implemented,” says Jain, whose current successes build on previous work setting up the government’s Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).

Looking ahead, Jain has her eye on security. “I think security is just going to grow,” says Jain, citing the recent Office of Personnel Management breach as evidence of that need. “IT is also going to grow,” adds Jain, “… with a focus on open source and agile development, these are not just our areas of focus but also those of the federal government.”

For Jain, especially critical to the hiring process is securing individuals with client intimacy. “As we grow our small business into the full and open space, it’s not necessarily how  well you write a proposal or how well you know the subject matter,” says Jain.

“I think that depth and breadth of client intimacy is really critical …we are also increasing our marketing personnel who go out and do marketing analysis, allowing more touch points with our clients.”

That fine-tuned hiring approach comes as eGlobalTech has secured key contract wins. Recently, the company was awarded additional work in the area of Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) and Information Sharing support. This contract comes under the initial 2014 task order HHS awarded the company to provide program management for the Office of Information Security (OIS). The contract also allows eGlobalTech to make significant contributions to a security program that protects HHS IT assets, as well as personal identifiable information and protected health information of citizens nationwide.

Another key win is a one-year, $43 million contract awarded by the GSA to provide IT program administration and management support services. The contract allows eGlobalTech to support the GSA in its ongoing IT organization integration initiatives. Among its focus areas, eGlobalTech is providing technology strategy, enterprise architecture and innovation support services.

“I’m really excited that we’ve won several proposals at the end of this fiscal year,” says Jain. “Over the coming year, I see us focusing – and growing – in the top echelons of our company.”
