Vencore Inc., of Chantilly, Va., announced Oct. 6 the appointment of C. Steven (Steve) Griffin as Senior Vice President and Program Manager of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Engineering Services Contract (ESC) at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. He will lead Vencore’s ESC team in the design and development of new systems, technologies and equipment to be used for the ground processing of space launch vehicles, spacecraft and payloads.

“I am pleased to welcome Steve Griffin to the Vencore family,” Vencore President and CEO Mac Curtis said. “As a trusted and long-standing partner of our nation’s space program, Vencore has supported NASA’s incredible success with space operations since the late 1960’s. Steve has the leadership skills and intimate customer knowledge to lead our team and deliver an unmatched breadth and depth of expertise to NASA.”

Griffin will report to Joe Broadwater, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Space Group.

He previously served as the Senior Director of Operations and Business Development in the federal services division of CB&I (Chicago Bridge and Iron). Griffin has also held senior program and operations management positions in support of national space, defense and security efforts at CSR, Space Coast Launch Services, the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security, The Boeing Company, Astrotech Space Operations and McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Company.

Griffin served five years in the U.S. Army after earning a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy (Westpoint). He also earned a master’s degree in engineering management from the University of Central Florida.
