On August 25 Reston, Va.-based Leidos was awarded a five year IDIQ firm fixed-price contract with a ceiling value of $450 million to support the TSA in the deployment of transportation security capabilities.
Leidos’ primary responsibility will be to aid the Office of Security Capabilities (OSC) within the TSA in the installation of checkpoint technologies for passenger screening and the technologies for screening of check baggage. The contract encompasses the East Region which includes the continental United States and its territories.
Leidos Group President, Sam Gordy said, “We are honored to be chosen by the TSA for the transportation security equipment deployment contract, a program of national importance that helps to secure the homeland, and protect our nation’s transportation infrastructure and the people travelling within it. We look forward to continuing our longstanding relationship with TSA.”
Leidos will assess any new technologies based on the risk model and employ them where applicable. It will also relocate or remove any technologies where necessary.
