According to the CGI website, George Schindler has been appointed to COO of the company. From 2006 to 2011 he served as President of the US-Canada division of CGI where he led a team of over 11,000 professionals and directed the company to be named the Greater Washington Government Contractor of the Year. With over three decades of experience in technological development and communications, Schindler has contributed to company’s US Business growth of over $3 billion.

“George has been an integral part of CGI’s growth since the acquisition of AMS in 2004 and has moved into roles of increasing responsibility within the company (first as President of Federal and then the U.S.),” said Mark HuYoung, Managing Partner, Northwind Partners. “He is a well-regarded, visible leader in industry. Moreover, George is a relationship-builder. He has gained an intimate knowledge of the culture and operations of the company and deep credibility within the organization, which will prove invaluable in leading global operations.”

Mr. Schindler was named multiple times a top 100 leader by Federal Computer Week. In addition Schindler serves as a trustee of the committee for Economic Development and sits on the Board of Directors for The Catalogue for Philanthropy and has chaired the 27th Annual Women’s Leadership Conference in 2013.

Schindler will relocate to Montreal, Canada for his new position.
