Chantilly, Va.-based Vencore Inc., a business management consulting company, announced May 20 that the organization has been awarded the 2015 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award for its facility located in Cleveland, Ohio. The Cogswell Award is the highest honor the Defense Security Service presents to cleared industry partners.
This year’s awards was presented by DSS Director Stan Sims at the 51st Annual NCMS Society of Industrial Security Professionals’ National Seminar on May 24 in Las Vegas, Nev.
“This award is given to a select few who have a proven track record of excellence in maintaining a top notch, comprehensive security program at their facility,” Vencore Inc. President and CEO Mac Curtis said. “With less than one percent of all cleared contractors being selected annually, I could not be more proud of the Cleveland team and our organization on this achievement, and would like to congratulate our fellow recipients on a job well done.”
A facility must be nominated by their assigned Industrial Security Representative and have two consecutive annual superior industrial security review ratings. Vencore’s Cleveland facility has received four consecutive superior security ratings.
Established in 1966, the Cogswell Award represents the need for partnership between industry and government to ensure the protection of the nation’s classified assets. The criteria for consideration include building and maintaining a security program that exceeds the National Industrial Security Program requirements and providing leadership to other cleared facilities to establish best practices, while setting the highest standards for security.
