WashExec Executive RollCall: JD Kathuria pulls from the broader WashingtonExec network to dish out the area’s who’s who and what’s what.

When it comes to striking deals, who you know trumps what you know in the government contracting community. And with four years of WashingtonExec’s outcome and result-oriented networking programs and events behind us, I’ve decided to expand our networking offering with some supplementary content.

The WashingtonExec Roll Call is a weekly feature within the WashingtonExec e-magazine that leverages our connections to catalog the area’s happenings.

We have tapped into our thousands of LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and in-person connections to compile and share with you information about the promotions, company switches, job openings and work anniversaries that transpire within the broader WashingtonExec network.

The end result? A running map of who’s where — professionally — in the Greater Washington area.

In this week’s WashExec RollCall, we saw 11 new hires/promotions and three work anniversaries. Read on for insight about the topics that caught our eyes and ears this past week within our network’s virtual water cooler.

    News at WashingtonExec:
The Execs on the Move Group has gained traction with many changes at the executive levels in the government and government contracting industry. This group consists of executives in various states of transition – ranging from plans to re-enter the govcon industry, engaging in start-up work, consulting or serving as Board of Advisors/Directors. Recent retired government executives are also represented. Topics for 2015 will include LinkedIn (basic and advanced features), self-awareness, board appointments and changes in the federal market space. This group is chaired by Carlos Echalar Chief Advisor & President of the Workforce Advisory Group.

The conversation about the importance of STEM and the opportunities for students to get involved continues despite the completion of the 2015 K-12 STEM Symposium. We have created a 50-page Parent Action Plan, which features STEM-related summer camps, after-school activities, online resources, educator training, internship information, best practices, science-related apps and more.
