Fairfax, Va.-based Sevatec Inc. announced Feb. 26 the appointment of Daniel “Dan” Muse as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Muse will have overall responsibility for finance, accounting, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and other strategic management functions across the firm.

“We are very fortunate to add a proven leader of Dan’s caliber to our senior leadership team,” Sevatec CEO Sonny Kakar said. “We have ambitious plans for the future and Dan’s insights and financial management experience in the government contracting industry will be instrumental in taking our organization to the next level of performance and growth.”

“I am extremely excited to be joining Sevatec,” Muse said. “The company is very well-positioned in the market and led by a highly talented team that is dedicated to supporting its customers’ missions. I am energized by the challenge and look forward to contributing to the company’s continued success.”

Muse brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in finance and accounting roles to the position. He previously served as Stifel’s Director in the Aerospace, Defense and Government Services Investment Banking Group and held finance and business operations positions at Goldman Sachs and Arthur Andersen.

Muse earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Richmond, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He has also earned both the Certified Public Accountant and Charted Financial Analyst designations.
