McLean, Va.-based Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) announced Feb. 23 that the U.S. Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) has awarded the company a task order to provide architecture and systems engineering support services to the Office of the Chief Engineer (CHENG) (SPAWAR 5.0), the Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (PEO C4I), the Fleet Readiness Directorate (FRD) and additional C4ISR programs and offices.

“For more than 10 years, SAIC has provided services that have helped SPAWAR 5.0 become a leader in information dominance and the technical authority for the Navy,” SAIC Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Navy and Marine Corps Customer Group Tom Watson said. “This follow-on task order allows us to continue to support the vision and mission of SPAWAR 5.0, particularly with key initiatives such as cyber security and cloud technology.”

SAIC will provide systems architecture, mission engineering analysis, interoperability assessments, systems engineering, configuration management and technical management services to SPAWAR.

The single-award, cost-plus-fixed-fee task order has a one-year base period of performance, two one-year options, and a total contract value of approximately $62 million if all options are exercised. Most of the work will be performed in San Diego, Calif. Work will also be performed in Charleston, S.C.; Norfolk, Va.; and Washington, D.C.
