Leidos announced Feb. 17 that it has received the U.S. Dept. of Defense Nunn-Perry Award for mentor-protege excellence. This is the 15th time Leidos has been selected to receive a Nunn-Perry Award, named in honor of former Sen. Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry. The award recognizes outstanding mentor-protege teams formed under the DoD’s Mentor-Protege program.
“These mentor-protege relationships bring immense value to both companies involved. The end result of our work with Minerva Engineering is that the DoD received excellent service in the work being performed,” Leidos Engineering Solutions Group President Jim Moos said. “At Leidos, we’re honored to be recognized again with this award for our success with our protege firm and the DoD.”
Leidos has participated in the DoD Mentor-Protege program for more than 20 years and has been recognized by the government for its participation in other civilian agency small business programs. The company has formally mentored more than 90 firms. It received the award this year in recognition for its exemplary efforts in mentoring the Minerva Engineering.
