WashExec Executive RollCall: JD Kathuria pulls from the broader WashingtonExec network to dish out the area’s who’s who and what’s what.
When it comes to striking deals, who you know trumps what you know in the government contracting community. And with three years of WashingtonExec’s outcome and result-oriented networking programs and events behind us, I’ve decided to expand our networking offering with some supplementary content.
The WashingtonExec Roll Call is a weekly feature within the WashingtonExec e-magazine that leverages our connections to catalog the area’s happenings.
For the past couple months we have tapped into our thousands of LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and in-person connections to compile and share with you information about the promotions, company switches, job openings and work anniversaries that transpire within the broader WashingtonExec network.
The end result? A running map of who’s where — professionally — in the Greater Washington area.
In this week’s WashExec RollCall, we saw four new hires/appointments and 10 January work anniversaries. Read on for insight about the topics that caught our eyes and ears this past week within our network’s virtual water cooler.

News at WashingtonExec:
We are gearing up for our 2015 K-12 STEM Symposium on March 7, 2015, at the Nysmith School in Herndon, Va. This year’s theme is The Parent Factor: How to Engage Your Kids in STEM. The free, all-day event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. that equally engages children, parents and teachers, coupled with corporate, government, academia and non-profit executives from the STEM fields. Activities for the day will include hands-on experiments for children, government and industry exhibitors, student science fair projects and panel discussions with STEM stakeholders. Attendees will also be able to find information about government and industry STEM-related high school and college internships. For more information, click here. We expect more than 2,500 attendees.
Jobs of the Week:
On behalf of a friend, a company is looking for a Business Development professional for a government mobility division who has two to four year’s experience selling to the federal government (essentially needs to know the basics of government contracting and engagement). Strong aptitude for learning about services around new technologies (mobility experience would be a plus, but not a requirement). Key qualities include hunter, ambitious, strong work ethic and results-oriented. If interested, email info@washingtonexec.com.
