Falls Church, Va.-based Acentia, a company that provides technology and management solutions, Thursday announced that it has acquired Optimos, LLC, another information technology solutions provider.
Optimos specializes in the design and implementation of mission-centric solutions for better performance, accountability, collaboration and transparency. Key capabilities include: constituent and case management; enterprise content and records management; enterprise data analytics and information intelligence; cloud enablement of business applications; secure enterprise customer portal; service oriented architecture (“SOA”) and business process management (“BPM”) solutions; and methodology expertise on agile and Optimos’ Optimizer.
“By acquiring Optimos, Acentia will be able to serve a broader range of customers with a more extensive mix of capabilities and technical expertise,” said Todd Stottlemyer, CEO of Acentia. “We are pleased to come together with a company whose exceptional reputation, deep domain knowledge, and focus on the customer’s mission critical systems wholly aligns with that of Acentia. We are also very pleased that Optimos’ CEO, Raj Parameswaran, and Chief Technology Officer, Ash Sehgal, have joined the Acentia senior executive management team.”
This acquisition opens the door for Acentia on the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions II (EAGLE II) contract for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). EAGLE II is the preferred source of IT services and solutions for most of DHS’s enterprise IT initiatives.
“This is another in a long line of private equity-backed transactions that are occurring in the GovCon market,” said Bob Kipps, Managing Director of KippsDeSanto, about the acquisition. “Private equity platform investments continue to seek ways to advance their competitive positioning and value proposition by adding tuck-in acquisitions that provide specific customers, contract vehicles and capabilities.”
“We are excited to be joining Acentia,” said Parameswaran. “We share a simple—yet very important mission—to provide exceptional service to our customers so that they may succeed. By joining Acentia, we are better positioned to bring our proven enterprise solutions to a broader set of customers and further leverage an enhanced set of capabilities and a larger talent pool. Acentia and Optimos also share a strong commitment to our employees, and we are pleased that our 100-plus employees will now be a part of Acentia.”
