The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) will host its annual banquet, TechCelebration, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at the Ritz-Carlton, 1700 Tysons Blvd., in McLean.
The agenda for the evening includes registration and networking from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the program from 6:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
During the event, Northrop Grumman CEO Wes Bush will make remarks in accepting the new Pinnacle Award to for his leadership and contributions to the Northern Virginia technology community. In addition, NVTC will present the Earle C. Williams Lifetime Achievement Award to Northern Virginia Community College President Bob Templin, in recognition of his service to NVTC and the region’s tech industry. Templin will retire in February 2015.
NVTC also will announce the winners of the 2014 NVTC Tech Awards, a new awards program recognizing influential leaders and innovative companies/firms in the Northern Virginia technology community. Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Tech Company of the Year (less than $50 million and more than $50 million in revenue): Presented to two technology companies that have proven their dedication, vision and ability to make things happen by working with a sustained, strategic business plan to grow into players in the area’s tech industry.
- Tech Executive of the Year: Presented to a C-Level executive with a proven track record of substantial contributions in the technology industry in the Greater Washington region.
- NVTC Associate Member of the Year: Recognizes the contributions of NVTC Associate member companies/firms (law firms, venture/investment firms, banks, accounting firms and other service providers) in Northern Virginia’s technology ecosystem.
- Innovative Use of Technology: Highlights the region’s “tech-enabled” companies/firms that demonstrate exemplary competency in utilizing current or disruptive technology to solve business problems and drive results.
The cost to attend is $295 for members, $375 for non-members, $2,950 for a member table of 10 and $3,750 for a non-member table of 10. Walk-in prices are $345 for members and $425 for non-members, and will be accepted on a space-available basis.
