AnyPresence, a cloud-based app development platform, announced Sept. 30 the company has raised $6 million in a new round of funding, led by CNF Investments.

“This funding round will also be used to expand our capabilities based on requirements from customers and partners, such as API management and support for emerging devices driven by the Internet of Things movement,” AnyPresence CEO and co-founder Anirban Chakrabarti said in a statement.

“Reducing the friction of building and integrating apps is key to unlocking mobile innovation,” Brian Dye, Group Vice President and GM Mobile Platform Group for Citrix, said in a statement. “We believe AnyPresence has delivered a leading MBaaS platform that helps companies channel this innovation to rapidly mobilize their business, and are investing to support their continued growth.”

“We typically seek to invest in growth-stage companies with a strong, proven entrepreneurial team,” Joe Del Guercio, Managing Director at CNF Investments, said. “We are very impressed with the customer and sales traction that the AnyPresence team has accomplished in a short time, and are excited to see the company move to the next level of growth.”

The Reston, Va.-based AnyPresence will now have the ability to strengthen its position as an enterprise mobile backend service (MBaaS) platform with the new funding. Additionally, the company will be able to expand into adjacent product areas such as API management and user interface (front-end) development.

WashingtonExec previously covered AnyPresence in February 2014 when the company partnered with Acentia to support government mobile modernization efforts.
