JDRF, a research and advocacy organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research, will host its 14th annual black tie DC Hope Gala, “One Wish,” at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, at The National Building Museum, located at 401 F Street NW, in Washington, D.C.

The event will honor Dr. Kenneth Moritsugu, who has served as the former WorldWide Chairman of the Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Institutes, former Vice President for Global Professional Education and Strategic Relations for Johnson & Johnson’s Diabetes Solutions Companies, and Acting Surgeon General of the United States in 2002 and from July 2006 to September 2007. The gala will also feature the inaugural presentation of the Rapaport Lifetime Service Award.

The program for the evening includes cocktails, silent and live auctions, dinner and Fund a Cure.

Mr. & Mrs. Robert and Virginia Pommer and Mr. & Mrs. Thorn and Sharis Pozen are serving as event chairs.

Individual tickets are $500. Sponsorship opportunities range from $5,000 to $75,000. Registration closes October 24.
