The Data Transparency Coalition and Workiva will host Data Transparency 2014 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. September 30, 2014, at the JW Marriott, 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, in Washington, D.C.
The Data Transparency Coalition advocates on behalf of the private sector and the public interest for the publication of government information as standardized, machine-readable data.
The program includes keynote addresses from White House Deputy Chief Technology Officer Nick Sinai and Comptroller General of the United States Gene Dodaro, along with speakers Dave Mader, from the White House Office of Management and Budget, and David Lebryk, from the Department of the Treasury. Mader and Lebryk are charged with implementing the DATA Act.
Representative Patrick McHenry, Chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee of the House Financial Services Committee, will speak about H.R. 5405, which requires the SEC to stop using the eXtensible Business Reporting Format (XBRL) for collecting public company financial statements.
