AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a government IT and engineering solutions company based in Chantilly, Va., announced Aug. 26 that it has appointed John Dyer as vice president and director of organizational development/knowledge management (ODKM).

“John possesses a deep understanding of the industry and has experienced unparalleled success in organizational leadership and program management that will strengthen AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ leadership team and position our organization for future success, “said Peter Smith, president and CEO, AMERICAN SYSTEMS. “In his new role as vice president/director of ODKM, John will pioneer new opportunities and elevate existing programs, and we expect that he will act as a significant growth catalyst for the company.”

Dyer will be responsible for the identification and prosecution of new business opportunities and the execution of the programs within the ODKM Directorate. His professional affiliations span multiple industry, state, and federal government organizations, including the Armed Forces Communications & Electronic Association and the National Defense Industrial Association.
