The American Red Cross will be holding its “Salute to Service” Gala on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and funds raised will support services delivered in our local community.

Join hundreds of military, government, corporate and community leaders for this event, which symbolizes the historical relationship between the Red Cross and military members and families. J.R. Clark, Partner, Squire Patton Boggs LLP and Donna Cooper, President, Pepco Region, Pepco Holdings, LLC are co-chairs of the event.

At this year’s gala, honorees include Secretary of the Army John McHugh, who will be receiving the Lifetime of Service Award; Lt. Gen. Patricia D. Horoho, Surgeon General of the Army, the 2014 Tiffany Circle Distinguished Woman Warrior and the Honorable Charlene Drew Jarvis, Exceptional Service Award. WJLA’s Rebecca Cooper and CNN’s Jake Tapper will serve as emcees.

Kenneth Kellogg, a Washington, D.C. native who has performed with the Washington National Opera in such roles as Lord Rochefort in Donizetti’s Anna Bolenna and Leporello in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, will sing the national anthem. Entertainment will be provided by the NFL Players Choir, a world-class choir with both active and former NFL players as members.

Sponsorships and tickets for the “Salute to Service” Gala can be purchased at: http://bidpal.net/salutetoservice14.
